Jeff Buckley
Song Sketch 44
Last week I stopped in my tracks to listen to Jeff Buckley’s chorus of “Lover, You Should’ve Come Over” as it came blasting out of a shop radio. His voice still so powerful, I was really taken aback. This year celebrates the 30th anniversary of Buckley’s timeless classic ‘Grace’, its hauntingly beautiful melodies, plaintive reverb guitar sounds and powerhouse tracks. Featuring a mix of original songs and covers, each delivered with heart aching emotional depth and soaring vocals. Highlights from the album include the mesmerising “Hallelujah,” the soulful “Lover, You Should’ve Come Over,” and the anthemic “Grace.” Sketch of the week, ‘Where Is’.

Jeff Buckley: Everybody Here Wants You
“Jeff Buckley, a prodigiously talented guitarist and songwriter, drowned accidentally in 1997 at the age of 30.
Actor Brad Pitt, fellow musicians (Jimmy Page, Chrissie Hynde, Elizabeth Fraser, Patti Smith, among others) and Buckley's mother are among those contributing to this portrait of a cult performer who, with his 1994 album Grace, emerged as one of the most acclaimed, eclectic and original rock artists of recent times.”

Sketch of the Week - Where Is
Lyrics - Where Is
We’re born
Alone as the sky
We’ll I’m used to disappointments
In the light in your eye
Can’t, forget that sight.
I could never really tell you where i’m going
We stand alone
all alone
Oh as strangers
In the cold of the stars
gives an indication of the distance we are
You console me
said don’t you feel alone
I could never really tell you that’s all I’ve known.
I could never really tell you that’s all I’ve known.
Where has my lover gone
Where has my love all gone
Where has my love all gone
There are strands
and holes in the sky.
Distant people listening in the folds of the night.
Oh elation
is a time I’ve known
but the manner of its leaving is what best I know.
The manner of its leaving is the thing that I know.
Where is my lover gone
Where is my love all gone
Where is my love all gone
